Wasaga Under Siege Returns in 2017

Back by popular demand - Wasaga Under Siege 2017. The Friends of Nancy Island and Wasaga Beach Park with the assistance of Ontario Parks, the Town of Wasaga Beach and many community sponsors is coordinating Wasaga Under Siege 2017.  All events and activities will be held at Nancy Island Historic Site.  

Note the change in dates for 2017. Mark your calendar for:

August 19th: 10 am - 6 pm

August 20th: 10 am - 4 pm

Visit British, American. Native and British Naval Encampments on Nancy Island and experience life in 1812. Enjoy musket and Cannon Demonstrations, Native Drumming and Storytelling, War of 1812 Surgeon, Cooking Demonstrations, 1812 Fashion Shows, 1812 Scavenger Hunt, Candy Cannon, Kids Mini Militia and much more! Musical entertainment will be provided by the Zoom Daddy's.  

Admission: $5 per/person/day   12 and under Free

The Friends of Nancy Island will operate a food and refreshment booth.  Come out and experience life during the War of 1812.

Participating Groups

Re-enacting groups attending include the On-gwe-ho-way Native Re-enactors, Royal Newfoundland Regiments, Incorporated Militia of Upper Canada, HMS Nancy Gun Crew, HMS Moira Royal Navy Display, Penetanguishene Ships Company, Royal George Landing Party, Royal Artillery 4th Battalion, 22nd US Infantry and Canadian Volunteers.
