Ploverpalooza – June 15th and 16th, 2019

Ploverpalooza is a celebration of Piping Plovers at Wasaga Beach.  Events and activities take place under the Big Tent at the Town of Wasaga Beach’s Waterfront Festival in Beach Area 1 on Father’s Day weekend.  

Activities include:

  • Plover spotting
  • Games/activities
  • Scavenger hunt
  • Face painting
  • Environmental displays
  • Arts and crafts

Healthy Parks Healthy People – Free Day Use July 19, 2019

Healthy Parks Healthy People is a world-wide movement that celevrates the linkages between nature and human health. In 2018, Ontario Parks is joining this campaign with a celebration on July 20. Day-use access will be FREE at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park on this day. Special events supporting the Healthy Parks Healthy People theme are planned. Ships and Sails: Wasaga Under Siege – August 17th, 2019

Join us in commemorating 205th Anniversary of the sinking of HMS Nancy.  British navel re-enactors will transport you back to the War of 1812 with sailing vessel and weaponry demonstrations.  Metro Marine modellers will display and sail ‘model ships’ on the river.  Come out and learn about all things ‘ship and sail’ at the 2019 Ships and Sails: Wasaga Under Siege event.  

Activities will include:

  • 1812 sailor and voyageur re-enactors
  • cannon, musket, and cutlass demonstrations
  • naval artefact displays
  • model ship displays and speakers presentation
  • build-your-own model ship
  • voyageur canoe rides
  • rope and knot tying station
  • sea shanties and folk music
  • powder monkey run
  • grog sampling (non-alcoholic)
  • naval games and activities
  • and much more!
